Arbosol® PVC Plastisol Coating & Metal Parts Protection

Arbosol® coatings and linings are a liquid-applied, plasticized, heat-cured polyvinyl chloride (PVC) system.

The company is the world’s best pvc coating for metal supplier. We are your one-stop shop for all needs. Our staff are highly-specialized and will help you find the product you need.

Our plastisol coating and lining product, Arbosol®, is used to protect industrial metal parts from corrosion and chemical attack in mild to harsh acidic solutions, sodium hypochlorite, plating solutions, etc. Call Arbonite to learn more!

Qualified Applicators of Plastisol Coating & Lining

Arbonite is one of the most experienced and qualified applicators of plastisol coatings and linings. Our corrosion protection and tank lining company has been servicing customers in the Philadelphia region and Northeast since the late 1940s. Today we work with customers in a number of industries including: water and waste treatment, chemical processing, metal plating, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and more.

Industrial Parts Commonly Coated in Plastisol

Arbosol® PVC plastisol coatings and linings can be applied to a variety of metal parts and pieces in a variety of thicknesses. Tanks or metal parts that require significant protection from corrosion or harsh chemicals benefit from a thick coating application, typically 60 mils – 120 mils, applied to a pinhole-free condition via hot-dip or spray application. Items requiring a lesser degree of corrosion or chemical resistance can be protected with plastisol coating or lining applied at a thickness of less than 60 mils, usually via spray application.

Arbosol® Coatings

  • Exterior barrier for tanks, piping and skids

Arbosol® Linings

  • Tank lining system (minimum thickness of 60 mils)
  • Sodium hypochlorite storage vessels
  • Transport equipment
  • Filter vessels in ion-exchange systems
  • Plating equipment
  • Variety of pumps and valves

Arbosol® Product Advantages

  • 100% solids – NO volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
  • Versatility and customization based on your industry’s specific needs
    • Range of durometer hardness options from 70 Shore A to 90 Shore A
    • Custom compounds to meet requirements for flexibility and tension strength
    • Arbosol® coatings can be applied as a dip-coating when you need a varying level of thickness on different sections of the same industrial metal part.
  • Variety of colors available in spray versions; standard dip formulations are black
  • Reduce vibration
  • Electrical resistance
  • Chemical corrosion and abrasion protection
  • Extend the lifespan of equipment and protect from damage caused by metal on metal rubbing
  • Versatility – can be used as a tank lining system (minimum thickness of 60 mils) or as an effective barrier coating for the exterior of tanks, piping, and skids

Custom Plastisol Compounds for Regulatory Compliance & Certifications

When to use PVDF and PVC coating on insulated metal ...

WHEN TO USE PVDF AND PVC COATING ON INSULATED METAL PANELS?

Recently, a customer asked me to explain the difference between the various types of steel coatings on insulated metal panels. Why is it important to know that? Because each type of coating has different characteristics that create a real customer advantage. So in this post, we will show you examples of when to use PVDF and PVC coating on insulated metal panels.

WHAT IS COATING FOR INSULATED METAL PANEL?

The steel coating for insulated metal panels, called also “facing” of insulated metal panels is the top layer of the insulated panel. It may be coated in different colors and have different quality levels. It may be used on galvanized steel sheets or aluminum. The coating type for the top layer is chosen according to the place of application and desired characteristics. The coated metal life span depends on how its chemical structure protects the metal from corrosion.

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF COATING OF INSULATED METAL PANEL?

  1. Polyester
  2. PVDF
  3. PVC or PET
  4. Plastisol

PRACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS: PVDF AND PVC COATING ON INSULATED METAL PANELS IN DIFFERENT AREAS OF USE

INDUSTRIAL REFRIGERATION

If the customer builds a refrigerated warehouse in an area where the surrounding environment is very aggressive, it is necessary to choose the coating that protects the steel sheet from aggressive corrosive agents. For example, PVDF coating.

EXAMPLES OF AGGRESSIVE ENVIRONMENTS

  1. Marine or polluted environment
  2. Animal farming
  3. Sea-food and fish processing plants
  4. Meat or chicken processing

plants, as the coating has to be resistant to heavy-duty cleaning.

PROTECTING COLD – ROOM FROM SCRATCHES

How to keep the internal environment of our cold room always clean and protected from scratches that can cause corrosion? Use a type of coating with scratch-resistant characteristics such as a PVC.

MAKING COLORS OF A BUILDING LAST OVERTIME

How to build a colorful building with colors that last over time in a sunny area? Think about PVDF coating that offers superior characteristics of resistance to ultraviolet rays.

COLD – ROOM WITH A HIGH STANDARD OF HYGIENE

And what kind of pre-painting should we use if we want to build a cold room with a high standard of hygiene?

In this case, we certainly recommend a PVC coating. This insulated metal panel coating resists to heavy-duty cleaning and prevents its molecular structure from degradation. We recommend choosing a cold white tone, as it makes easier to detect dirt during the cleaning.

CONCLUSIONS

Metal coatings for insulated metal panels are not all the same, although they may look similar. Here you can find practical recommendations on what to consider when choosing an insulated metal panel for your project. Please contact us with any further questions at sales@globepanels.com.
