I have a 36" Traco shrink wrap table top with the bar - not a tunnel. I use it all the time, instead of wrapping my framed projects with kraft paper I shrink wrap as soon as the framing is complete. It saves time when the customer picks up the job because they can inspect it through the shrink wrap and I can immediately bring it out to the car so the customer doesn't have to sit around while I wrap it. Also, I do different art shows where I have to transport some of my framed art - the shrink wrap does help protect the frame from nicks & some dings, I believe about as well as kraft paper. Nice thing is that I can immediately put it on my display stand with the shrink wrap on and my customers can touch w/o leaving finger prints and again it is wrapped and ready to go if the customer wants to buy. I have never looked into the carcinogens - the thought never crossed my mind. There is some smell when you seal the film but it isn't bad. I have a simple 10" exhaust fan in my wall and have never turned it on for the shrink wrapper - I don't know if it is a health hazard or not. At this point I will keep on shrink wrapping because it has been a big help in saving time and protecting the frames. I will probably start using the exhaust fan now though. By the way, my 36" table top can easily do any frame that is 36" - the center fold film is a little larger that 36" and the seal arm and base is wider than 36" too. Cost is around $350.00 to $ 400.00.

To determine the shrink wrap size that you need, measure from the center of your product, at the highest point, over the side and down at least 8” below where you want the bottom of the shrink wrap cover to be.
For example, if you are going to shrink wrap a power boat with an arch, measure from the center of the arch to down below the rub rail. Then double that figure, and add 1 foot for the shrink wrap weld hems> this allows for a 6 inch weld hem to wrap around the perimeter band, wherein you will tuck the shrink wrap under the perimeter band and heat weld it to create a 6 inch hem (one on each side of the boat/project, so the weld is continuous around the perimeter if possible). The following shrink wrap size chart should be a helpful place to begin, but definitely measure before placing your shrink wrap order.
Guidelines to help you determine the best shrink wrap thickness to use for your boat or project is detailed in the footnote ** at the bottom of the following chart.
